Halo is 40mm — denser, deeper, built for the heaviest daily use. Vela is 35mm — the choice when appearance and everyday durability matter equally. In larger gardens, a 40mm pile can look proportionately heavy. Vela’s 35mm pile reads as lush without dominating the space.

Heat behaviour depends on fibre type, colour, pile density, and garden orientation. We consider all four when selecting our range. Lighter-toned grasses with natural colour variation and balanced pile density perform better in full sun than darker, ultra-dense alternatives. Polyethylene fibres retain less heat than polypropylene options. A light spray of water cools the surface quickly on the hottest days.

Yes. The fibres lean in one direction — run your hand against the pile and they push back; with the pile and they lie flat. Lay the grass with the pile direction facing your main viewing point, usually your house. From that angle, the lawn will look its most natural and upright.

If you’re joining two pieces, the pile direction must be consistent across both. A join with opposing pile directions is immediately visible regardless of how well the rest of the installation is done.
