What Artificial Grass Works Around a Swimming Pool?
The key requirements for pool surround artificial grass are fast drainage, UV stability, resistance to pool chemicals, and surface texture that’s comfortable and safe underfoot when wet. All grasses in our range are UV-stabilised and designed to drain liquids through the backing. For pool surrounds, we recommend Signature Range grasses for their higher fibre density and bio-based backing durability under repeated water exposure.
Is Artificial Grass Slippery Around a Pool?
Quality artificial grass is not significantly more slippery than natural grass when wet. The fibre texture and pile structure of grasses in our range provide reasonable traction underfoot when wet. For pool surrounds with very smooth hard surfaces underneath, ensuring proper fixing and edge securing prevents movement. A foam shockpad underlay can also improve surface grip.
Does Pool Water Damage Artificial Grass?
Occasional chemical splash from standard pool water doesn’t damage quality artificial grass. The polymers used in our grasses are resistant to the chlorine concentrations used in residential pools. Avoid direct application of concentrated pool chemicals to the surface. For saltwater pools, the same applies — normal splash exposure is not a concern.
