Quick & Easy to Use Adhesive That’s Ideal for Securing the Perimeter of Your Artificial Lawn & Carrying Out Precise Repairs
Aqua Bond Adhesive is a single-component moisture-curing adhesive of trowellable viscosity, designed for bonding artificial grass carpets to a variety of substrates or joining tapes. The adhesive is tolerant to use in damp and cold conditions, with the final bonds being fully resistant to climatic conditions.
Due to its cartridge and nozzle application, Aqua Bond is perfect for where the application of precise amounts of adhesive is needed, such as carrying out repairs or bonding the perimeter of your artificial lawn to surfaces such as concrete.

Do you recommend using Aqua Bond for joins?
You can use it for joins, but for any join longer than 4m we recommend that you use two-part adhesive, which would be a more economical solution and provide a better coverage of adhesive to the joining tape.
Each cartridge of Aqua Bond covers approximately 0.3m2. This is in comparison to two-part adhesive, which can be purchased in either 5kg tubs, which cover an area of approximately 2m2, or 10kg tubs, which cover an area of 4m2.
When you compare costs, you’ll see that two-part adhesives are far more cost-effective, as you can cover a larger area at a lower price.
You can purchase two-part adhesive in 5kg and 10kg tubs.
What is it made from?
Single-part adhesive is made of polyurethane, which is produced by diphenylmethane diisocyanate.
What colour is it?
Single-part adhesive is green in colour, to match the colour of artificial grass.
How long is the shelf life?
Aqua Bond will keep for up to 6 months in unopened containers.
How do I apply it?
Aqua Bond is applied using a mastic gun. The 310ml cartridge is supplied with a plastic nozzle, to allow you to apply adhesive accurately and consistently to a wide range of existing surfaces and joining tapes.
The adhesive can also be spread using a trowel, to provide a more even coverage.
How long is it workable for?
The amount of workable time you get with Aqua Bond can depend upon the climatic conditions. The table below shows approximate timings, based upon average humidity. The higher the humidity, the quicker it will harden:
|Ambient Temperature ||Workable Time |
|5°C ||1 Hour |
|10°C ||30 Minutes |
|20°C ||15 Minutes |
How long does it take to fully cure?
The warmer the temperature and the higher the humidity, the quicker it will cure. The table below shows approximate timings, based upon average humidity:
|Ambient Temperature ||Cure Time |
|5°C ||4–8 Hours |
|10°C ||2–4 Hours |
|20°C ||1–2 Hours |
What is the coverage rate of one cartridge?
Coverage depends upon the thickness of Aqua Bond applied to an existing surface or joining tape.
As a general guide, one cartridge covers approximately 0.3m2. When applying to a joining tape, you’ll be able to cover around 2–3m of tape, at a thickness of 2mm.
How should I prepare the existing surface?
Ensure the existing surface is smooth, clean, sound, and free from dust, loose particles, or contaminants such as oil, which could affect adhesion.
Dampness can be tolerated, but any surface water should be removed.
What temperature can I use it in?
Aqua Bond adhesive can be used in temperatures ranging from 5°C to 25°C
Can I use it in damp or wet conditions?
Yes, Aqua Bond can tolerate damp conditions, but any surface water should be removed. Do not use in wet conditions.
What safety measures should I take?
