Specially Designed Silica Sand Infill for Artificial Lawns
In the same way you should always choose a good-quality artificial turf, you should always choose a good-quality infill material, too.
Fortunately, we’ve put the same amount of research into our silica sand infill as we have into our turf!
There are many different forms of silica sand infill available and ensuring you choose the correct type will affect the performance of your lawn.
Our silica infill sand has a very fine, sub-rounded grain that will not break down, compact or damage your artificial turf.
It’s also thoroughly washed to help prevent weed growth and remove any impurities.
Using an angular sand can cause damage to your lawn as the sharp edges can cut into the synthetic fibres as you walk across your artificial grass.
Angular sand also compacts with foot traffic, impairing drainage. The multiple edges of angular sand grind together and slowly break down over time, meaning that your lawn will require regular topping up.
Our specially designed artificial grass infill is perfect for improving the performance and increasing the lifespan of your artificial lawn.
Why Apply a Silica Sand Infill to Your Artificial Lawn?
Our kiln dried silica sand is designed specifically for artificial lawn applications. Adding a sand infill to your fake grass is a key part of the installation process.
The main benefits of applying a sand infill are:
-Adds ballast to prevent creases, ripples and movement in artificial grass
-Protects and supports synthetic fibres
-Helps to keep artificial grass cool
-Aids drainage
-Increases fire resistance
-Helps to protect the backing material
-Helps to prevent static

How do I Apply Silica Sand Infill?
The kiln dried sand should be applied evenly across your lawn.
For best results, we recommend using a seed spreader to control the flow of sand and ensure an even coverage.
Once applied, you will need to thoroughly brush the fake grass using an artificial grass rake, stiff broom or mechanical brush to allow the sand to fall through the fibres to the bottom of the pile.
Please note – this process should only be carried out when your artificial turf is completely dry.
The sand should not be allowed to get wet during installation, otherwise the moisture will cause the sand to ‘clump’ together, preventing the sand from falling to the bottom of the pile.
